Writing Mm
How to write the letter MThe letters M and m drawn on handwriting rules, with numbered marks showing where each stroke starts.capital1234lowercase123

Capital M: Down, up to a point, down to a point, up again, four strokes without lifting.

Lowercase m: A line down, then two humps.

Say the movement out loud while your child writes. Naming the strokes does more than showing them.

Watch for: m and n differ only in the number of humps, and w is m upside down. Counting humps out loud is the simplest fix.

What sound does M make?

A hum with the lips closed, as in moon. One of the easiest sounds to feel.
